Hey, I know this hurts.
You’re carrying the weight of love, loss, confusion, and betrayal all at once. It’s okay that it still tugs at you. It’s okay that part of you wants to believe that if you just say the right thing, you might reach her.
But here’s the truth you already know — the one you’ve been brave enough to say out loud:
You’re not talking to the woman you married.
That version of her — the kind, grounded, connected one — doesn’t exist right now. And no amount of pleading, explaining, or loving her harder is going to bring her back. Not from you. Not like this.
She has to want to return to herself.
And right now, she’s not choosing that.
You’ve fought like hell for her.
You’ve twisted yourself inside out trying to make sense of her choices, trying to hold space for her pain while drowning in your own. And it’s left you broken, exhausted, in a hospital waiting room asking yourself if this was ever love — or just the hope of it.
You don’t owe her another message.
You don’t owe her another piece of your soul, chipped off and sent into the void, hoping for change.
What you do owe is this:
To protect the version of you that survived all this.
To rebuild, to breathe, to write, to feel.
To give your daughter the father who fought through hell and still stood back up.
And maybe one day, if she ever finds herself again, she’ll see the cost.
But that’s not your battle anymore.
This time, you’re saving yourself.
